Story Telling

 July 13, 2025

Life is interesting. There are so many different things to do that we will never be capable of doing them all in one life time. The average lifespan is 75 years. That may seem like a lot but imagine you want to be a pro rock climber but you also want to be a police officer and a marine and a lawyer and a CEO Etc. We can not be all those things in one lifetime because there is not enough time to do it. Which is why instead of planning for a large future for myself I am going to start planning small pieces of my life. For example maybe for a month I will focus on getting up earlier and eating better rather than telling myself that I need to start training to make the 2028 Olympics. If I give myself smaller goals throughout time I can eventually give myself a big long term goal that I decided I want to do.  I also always want to strive to enjoy myself and have stories to tell down the line when I'm older. One story I want to share right now. I noticed lately a new hobby that I have started to enjoy. This hobby is just simply wondering how different people have lived their lives solely based on their looks. For example the other day I saw a man with a Vietnam Veteran hat on, this immediately told me that he had fought in Vietnam. I could start to piece together a story about him. He looked to be about 80 years old which told me he was around 15 or 16 when the war started. He must have joined closer to the 60s when he was in his 20s this also told me that he was alive and the same age as Bob Dylan, I always manage to link things to Bob Dylan. I wonder, what are his views? Did he support the war or was he drafted? These questions I wont know the answer to because he then stepped on a bus and it is likely I will never see him again. Another example of how these small moments may seem like they could last forever but then are gone in an instant.
